Sophie was silent as her bridesmaid clasped the collar behind her neck. Hanging from the strap of cloth was a blue sapphire, shining bindingly, despite the dim lighting. She looked back up at her full reflection. Wearing the silk dress, she looked almost exactly like the princess she had dreamed of being as a little girl. Only, her Prince Charming was none too appealing.
She immediately thought of Nathan with those words. He'd been by her side the whole time, supporting her with whatever she did with his usual anal attitude. He was more of her knight in shining armor than any of the other boys he'd helped her get over. And she felt a wetness begin to creep through her fur. The chocolate pelted cat looked at her, tsking.
"My Princess," she trilled, "why are you crying?"
Sophie smiled, her ultimate defense that got her through everything. "My mother always told me it was good luck for the bride to cry on her wedding day."
Blah, that was cheesy.
