I was looking through my gallery, and I realized I was severely lacking in dark-skinned characters. Aside from Alriena, I have two (Nieve and Amira). So, here's yet another.

Tainted Soul

Tainted Soul Origin: Alriena was one of five children to a prostitute in Ellias City, After finding her mother had murdered her siblings, she accidentally killed her as well. Afraid of being arrested, she fled the city and stepped in what she thought was tar. She realized it was the blood of a dying demon nearby, but before she could run she was possessed by the demon's soul, which changed her eyes from brown to gold. She remained in the forest to discover and tame her powers. Two years later she returned to the same brothel her mother worked at and began to follow in her mother's footsteps.
Weakness: Alriena's Soul allows her to move through shadows like she would through portals (she can move through solid objects like walls, barrels, and even the ground itself). She cannot use it too often (no more than twelve consecutive times) because the effort it takes to move through space weakens her to the point where she will lose consciousness. Her power does not work at night.

Personal History

Personality: Though she will never admit it, Alriena is a lot like her mother; she is very conceited over her looks and knows the power the female body has over a man, and she will use any means necessary to gain information. She is sharp and quick with her words and temper (not always in that order), and she is apathetic over whether or not her words actually insult someone. She believes her main flaw is that she immediately trusts people she knows, causing her to be wary of every move they make despite her instincts telling her otherwise. She's scared to get too close to anyone because of what happened to her family. She also hates the smell of alcohol because of the previous incident.
History: Alriena was born as the youngest of five children to a high-earning prostitute. Despite her age and neglectful mother, Alriena tried her best to support her older siblings, who were all often sick and too weak to work. One day she walked in and found her mother standing over the dead bodies of her brothers and sisters, who her mother had attacked in a drunken rage with a broken bottle of whiskey. Without thinking she attacked her mother, unintentionally killing her as well. Afraid of being arrested and executed, Alriena fled the city. While on the run she stepped into some unnatural, sticky liquid. She first thought it was tar, and followed the trail to where a dying demon lay. Frightened, she tried to run, but its hand grabbed her ankle, golden eyes seeming to glow. When the being died, its soul quickly found a new home inside of her. Alriena stayed away from the city for two years, surviving using Spartan methods of hunting and slowly gaining control of her powers. When she felt confident in her abilities, she returned to the same brothel she had grown up in and quickly rose to the top of the earners in the house. She also learned from one of her customers how to fight using knives, and has a pair of serrated blades she stole tucked into her corset.

Alliance

Neutral, Kingdom, or Deru: Neutral; but she will give anyone information if they pay her enough coin. As she says, she "obeys he with the deepest pockets."
Thoughts on Deru: She is intrigued by the thought of such a powerful and influential man, and wonders if she can seduce him (probably not, though); she also secretly admires his efforts, but her voiced opinion is always influenced by money.

Miscellaneous

Additional: Alriena loves music and dancing, especially with a partner. She can be found participating in any sort of festival. She also eats like a pig, the use of her powers and her job both ways to keep her slim figure. Amira also has a bad case of the clammy palms; if she gets nervous or too excited her palms begin to sweat.
